I have a different problem with my wife’s haircuts. Back in the days of haircuts my wife would come home, complain the stylist didn’t cut it right, too short, not short enough, spots too short while others too long, not quite right, absolutely wrong, doesn’t look right, doesn’t feel right, looks wrong when I [she] do this, or a combination of these. I believe she doesn’t know whaat she wants her hair to look like, but at least I knew when she got her hair done.

This is kinda cute, but IRL I really hate this kind of manipulation that it implies.

I think she needs a haircut. That’s easy for me to say when I look like a homeless person, and outta smacking distance.

It looks the same to me. Guys start looking shaggy, but when women complain about needing a haircut it means something different.

I have big beard. When I trim, it is like 4 inches taken off. I like to count the days before my wife notices. It’s not just the ladies whose cuts fly under the spousal radar.

When I cut my hair it does not really show at all different. I wear my hair long and put it up in a hair clip (dark color metal barrette when doing a reenactment as flat barrette hides better under cap then the stand up plastic clip).

When it gets long enough to annoy me or I notice that my shadow has bit of hair sticking up out of the clip, I put my hair in a pony tail, flip the pony tail over me head to the front, estimate, and cut. It doesn’t matter if it is a straight cut or not as it is hidden in the clip. This is all the time, not just during the closure of businesses.

Husband wears his hair long also – because he wanted to in the 60s and his parents would not let him and also for reenacting purposes. Since he let it grow while still working the back is long and the front has been trimmed shorter. (Now that his hair is white he has a lovely Geo Washington look, though he does not notice same.) He decided if we were stuck in the house and no one would seem him, he would finally let the sides grow longer to be able to pull same back also. He decided he did not like it that way, so we cut it. Again, we cut his hair at home all the time. He wears it in a queue (pony tail to modern people). When he thinks it too long, I cut the queue shorter – here straightness is important, but it is easy to do. He cuts the sides himself. I then use an electric razor to clean up the back and sides of his neck.

Free and both of us end up with our hair cut as we want it.
