So is someone trying to kill Hot Rize to silence her? Once she’s dead, she can’t finger her partners in the cocaine business. That would give the MCS a chance to do some serious detective work.
Maybe the coke on the delivery truck was spread so thick as part of a set-up.
God Evening All! Is this what they meant by flour power, back in the 60’s? Is Hot Rize about to become a flour child? I think she may just be food for the flowers.
The detail in panel 2 from the expression on Hot’s face (first name basis) to her fingernails and finger on the trigger is simply awesome. I too am an artist, and like Mr. Locher we really struggle with nice looking hands.
Aside from the perfectly-drawn hands and the accurately-drawn semi-auto, Mike keeps us guessing as to the innocence of Ms. Biscuit. Since it was definitely a female hand on the button, I think she took HR’s sage line about two people keeping a secret. She’s gotta be the baddie!
AND……….. Tracy’s running TOWARD the action! He moves a heckuva lot quicker now that he took the body armor off his back!
I remember how Gould had a way of brutally punishing many (though not all) of his villains in such a way that you almost felt sorry for them. Heck, some, I DID feel sorry for!
Now Ms. Hot Rize is getting her just desserts (sorry). I don’t quite feel all that sorry for her yet … she brought this on herself, after all … but let’s see how much she suffers in the days to come.
This is the sort of villain demise that one finds in Carl Hiaasen’s novels. One got macerated in a sugar cane grinder, another died from huffing WD-40, and yet another got trampled by a rhinoceros.
I’m amazed and pleased daily, with the way this strip has been reinvigorrated. It’s like the ghost of Gould is guiding Mike & Joe…look at panel 3, with DT & Sam in shadow…BEAUTIFUL !
DT hasn’t been this good since the Collins/Fletcher, or early Collins/Locher days.
@Brenda_fanActually, they may not. She could be charged, BUT, there are use of force laws that protect Law Enforcement and people aiding officers. Granted I don’t think that’s what Flakey is up to, I think she’s just looking out for herself. However, with her money I’m sure she’ll get a good lawyer, and that will be her defense. That she was trying to save Tracy and Sam..My 2nd point I don’t think she’s in on drug dealing. for two reasons.1.) Hot Rize wouldn’t of been so upset when Tony Rockyhorror called her at work.2.) I don’t think she would risk her whole Flakey Biscuits Empire, which I think is her only concern, to deal some drugs..But, I could be wrong. Mike is pretty darn good a throw a curve ball.
BuzzyKincaid73: Thanks for your comment. You seem to be as enthused about this new Dick Tracy as I am.I did think the shadow of the gun in panel 3 looked odd, but the artists have promised more accurate guns in the coming days.

Is Hot Rize trying to say the situation is “Kafka-esque” when she says “Kaff-kaff?” Or when she says “Gotta get kaff” does she just wants to go to Starbucks? A Venti half-kaff from Starbucks would sure hit the spot when things are dusty.

I hope she doesn’t shoot. The resulting dust explosion would damage most of the plant.

It must be flour. If that were cocaine, Hot Rize would be dead, stoned or sick from inhaling the dust.

Why doesn’t Jimmy just call Superman with his wristwatch signal? Oh, wait. Never mind. (evil grin)

What a way to go. I found an intresting Recipe online. I think you’re supposed to use the flour from hopper #4. Not the other “flour” !!!

I think we’ll find that Paula Dean is neither black or white but somewhere in between.

But, it looks like Tracy is holding an Ingersoll Rand 1/2" air impact wrench in his hand . . . . Panel 3.

They may not be able to get Hot Rize for dealing drugs, but they’ll get Flakey Biscuits for murder.
