All that emotional energy is feeding the dittos — that’s the good part of this. Now, expand the force field to include all the markings, and get with getting the heck out of there!
It’s not unreasonable for Wally to assume Dr. Amesworth knew that the toothbrush entities could climb walls. She has almost constantly been touting herself as being much more knowledgeable than the rest of them and not very willing to listen to any of their input. Until now.
You know, when they were dropping that ball of pencils out the window, their wall-climbing ability was the first thing that occurred to me. You’d think Wally would have flashed on that at the time since he’d seen them do it.
Well, i would be very surprised to learn that they had been able to secure the windows, considering they had to tunnel to get to this location (it would have been out of reach previously.) And considering all the other problems they’re having with these things, the ability to scale walls would have been nothing more than a minor detail (they shapeshift! They regenerate! They’re a whole planet’s worth of insane zombies that can’t be killed by headshots!)
So now what? Marx shows up and does a deus-ex-machina to get them out of this mess?
Amesworth has most of the critical need-to-know information such as: 1) clarity on multiverse 2)how the portals work 3) where they are and where they need to be. Without her, knowledge Wally, Alan, and Duffy would be back in disintegrating Eden; maybe saved by the Marx Patrol…maybe not. So, makes sense that Amesworth is leading.

This must be like a conversation on the Titanic. “Didn’t you bring up the ice?” “I thought YOU were supposed to bring up the ice!!!”

Uh oh, so there wasn’t a board on that window. And the white lines were from the light on the lighthouse?

Both is both. Who says she’s the leader? Why is she the leader? That said, why didn’t Wally mention this earlier?
On another note, here’s hoping that perhaps at least some of the toothbrushes want to talk to our motley crew.
I am tired of all aliens, all mutants, all topsiders, all anybody-other-than-ourselves, is bad and needs to be killed.

All along of this story arc, dr Amesworth’s sense of humor is … NOT funny! But at least she has one.

Well at least they’re having fun with it. Also that topsider will be his new buddy, or at least she will survive through the end.

They’re in some sort of tunnelling forcefield: won’t it just tunnel away any toothbrush zombies that try to get in?
