Stop contributing to the media who spend too much time dining in your place would also help.

Take two weeks off at an alpine lake resort. And enjoy the fresh air, the stary nights, and a two week disconnect with the rest of the world.

This is TRUE. I notice that I gnaw my nails badly when on my phone or in front of the t.v. but don’t do that any other time!!

Sadly, this comic is more true for me than I like. However, “head in the sandism” got us to this same place. Rereading Hiassen’s Squeeze Me and good comics whenever my BP goes up has helped.

You’d think Roz would at least have left the apron behind for a doctors appointment.

This reminds me of my mother’s experience with her doctor. She was in his office for her high blood pressure. He quizzed her about her life and got to her religion. His diagnosis: stop being Baptist.

The trick is not to watch it for hours at a time. There are really only a few top stories repeated endlessly. You don’t have to watch the commentators, if you can think for yourself.

My wife likes to watch the CBS evening news. It consists of about 18-20 minutes of news and 10-12 minutes of advertising mostly for incredibly expensive pharmaceuticals. And they spend a minute or two at the end on something uplifting. So, it seems to me that there probably isn’t much more than 18-20 minutes of real news a day, and anything more than that is just opinion sometimes laced with sowing paranoia and then feeding that paranoia off and on all day long. Most of the discussions seem to be speculative: “well, I think..,” and predicting the future. Hey, if you can predict the future, how come you’re not an incredibly successful investor living on your 85 foot yacht?
