Perhaps anticipating a grilling by Wallace, Trump has been ratcheting up his anger at Fox.
Last week Trump called on Fox to fire national security correspondent Jennifer Griffin after she appeared on air and confirmed parts of Jeffrey Goldberg’s explosive Atlantic story detailing Trump allegedly making disparaging comments about America’s war dead.
Trump has also taken to promoting fringe Fox competitor One America News, which has provided glowing coverage of the president and amplified pro-Trump conspiracy theories.
In private Trump blames Fox Corp. cochairman Rupert Murdoch for allowing segments like Griffin’s on the air.
Sources who’ve spoken with Trump told me Trump thinks Murdoch wants him to lose.
“Trump definitely thinks Rupert is not in his corner,” a Republican close to the White House said. Trump is not entirely wrong.
Sources close to Murdoch said Murdoch has told people he thinks Trump will lose in November.
Murdoch is thinking about how to steer his media empire into a post-Trump environment. “This is about business for Rupert,” one source said.
Once the base is fired up and falls in line, the nominees have a singular goal: Appeal to the undecided voters who might just swing the election, with carefully crafted messages aimed at “soccer moms” or “NASCAR dads” or whatever middle-of-the-road group seems to be in play that year.
Here’s the problem with that: Even experts don’t really understand who undecided voters actually are. And we have no idea what they really want. And they probably aren’t all that moderate after all.
“If you think there’s a ‘good’ to saying, ‘I want to hear both sides,’ you might say you’re undecided.
You might actually even on some level believe you’re undecided.
But you’re probably not,” says Yanna Krupnikov, a political scientist at Stony Brook University.
For more than a decade, she has been studying the political psychology of voters and nonvoters alike, and what she’s found is that “undecided voters” aren’t really independent, or moderate.
In fact, they’re often more partisan than some voters who openly identify with a party.
And when it comes to the handful of “pure” independents — those voters who legitimately do not lean toward one major party or the other, and could perhaps be swayed … well, they’re probably not watching these conventions at all, “except maybe by accident,” she says.
“They are just generally less interested in politics and often know less about it” than other groups, Krupnikov said.
Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner earned at least $36.2 million as they served in the White House last year, reporting a boost in income from some companies they own that hold residential and commercial properties, new disclosures released Friday show.
President Trump’s daughter and her husband, who serve as top advisers to him, reported a minimum combined income that was at least $7 million higher than in 2018, when they reported making at least $29 million, according to their personal financial disclosures, which they are required to file annually.
Their minimum income was lower last year than it was in 2017, the year they entered government service, when they reported earning at least $82 million, the disclosures show.
However, it is impossible to determine the exact amount that the couple earned or their net worth, because documents they are required to file with the Office of Government Ethics require administration officials to only report the worth of assets and liabilities in ranges.
Still, the filings, which were submitted last month and released Friday, show that the couple continue to collect huge sums from their outside businesses even as they work inside the administration.
Their combined income last year ranged from $36.2 million to $157 million, according to a Washington Post analysis of the disclosures.
Trump is actively killing U.S. citizens. He said so himself. Instead of protecting the nation’s citizen, he used their deaths as a shield for his reelection and to boost the stock market. The man has committed nationwide manslaughter.
Well, if you look hard enough, you’ll find a poll that agrees with you “Bye-den” sentiments. Trump still has a 59% disapproval rating (and recently referred to veterans as “suckered and losers” not exactly a winning strategy). I still believe that Biden/Harris will carry the day in November. If I was drowning, and was given a choice between an anvil (Trump) and a life preserver (Biden), I won’t say, “Sod off! I’m holding out for a lifeboat!” I’ll take the damn life preserver!
Ok, I really want to be respectful of the notion that many people have good reason not to trust or like Biden. I get it; I really do. In that vein, all I can say to little Carmen is that you might as well run off that cliff if you are not actively opposing Trump in this election. If Trump wins, and he might, you are screwed.
Biden, like any person or politician, has his flaws. However, spend a few minutes thinking about all the possible outcomes of a Biden Presidency and find one that results in 200,000 deaths.

What are political conventions really for?

First the UAE, now Bahrain. I don’t like Trump and I’m not going to vote for him. But you have to give credit where credit is due. I’m impressed.
