After all these years, it would be fun to have a couple of “Klondike Ike” strips actually see print. Maybe a week or at least a Sunday strip, perhaps on April 1st. Al Capp would occasionally run “Fearless Fosdick” in place of “Li’l Abner”; it wasn’t just left to the reader’s imagination.
I’ll bet Pop is Robb’s alter ego, and this strip is recapitulating his own experience with a favorite cartoonist, who would sometimes respond to a devoted fan; i.e., himself. How about it, Robb? You are our “Vic Van Streck”. I wonder who yours was/is?
Thanks to “The Daily Cartoonist,” I now get what this is all about: Mr. Armstrong is celebrating the 30th anniversary of “Jumpstart” with a collection of his cartoons.

No comments yet? Well, that can be easily fixed.

I honestly have so much respect for newspaper cartoonists. They have to come up with a new strip almost every day. That can’t be easy at all.

LOL! People often fall into the same traps they warn others about!

Drawing cartoons is the best living a guy can make.

I’ve found it hard sometimes to come up with a sermon once a week, much less a good toon once a day. Perhaps there is some genius at work here.

How difficult is it? Ask Robb, he has to do it every single day and do it in a way that keeps things fresh and interesting!

Call me dorky if you wish but there’s something incredibly sweet about that second panel with Frank hugging his book. He just looks so happy

Bwahahaha! Seriously though, glad I can do the reading and not the cartooning.

Yes, the misuse of the world “genius” is rampant and ill applied constantly.
