We had a cat that would do that. One day, when the piano tuner came to tune the piano, he said that some of the mechanism needed to be replaced because the old plastic had deteriorated, so he took the entire mechanism out to bring it to his shop to fix. After he left, the cat jumped on the piano, but no sound came out. The cat stopped for a moment, jumped off the piano, and never went on the piano again.
