One year, two days before Christmas, I found a wad of cash ($20s mostly) in the middle of the floor of the supermarket. It had to be at least a couple hundred. I turned it in to the service desk — I pictured someone frantically looking for their Christmas money, or the money they were going to spend on their Christmas dinner. I just hope that whoever it was, they were reunited with their cash.

$48.73 according to www.usinflationcalculator.com. That would be quite a few cones even for Nancy :)

Paper money laying around is a lot less common, but over the years I bet I’ve literally picked up over 200 dollars

The three best things I ever found laying on the ground;
1. A $20 bill.
2. Two tickets to a Genesis concert.
3. A half ounce bag of marijuana.

I googled it and apparently $5 in 1955 would be worth almost $50 today.
