FOR those who remember, once upon a time, Nancy remembered other days besides Christmas. On September 1, 2002, nearly ALL the comic strips remembered what had happened on September 11, 2001. In fact, nearly every strip noted that they would “never forget.” Then, again on September 11, 2011, once again, nearly every comic strip vowed to “never forget.” But today? Twenty years later, nearly everyone has forgotten. Unfortunately, including “modern” Nancy.

Don’t know if an of these links will work for anyone else. It is very sad that so many who vowed to “never forget” HAVE forgotten so soon.

December 7, 1941 happened while most of my generation were still babes in arms – but, throughout our lives, all of those who vowed to “never forget,” really DID never forget. Perhaps that is why they are still known as “the greatest generation.”
