Fritzi was really cruel in the Bushmiller strips.

In the later Guy Gilchrist ones, she is tender and loving—yeah, yeah—and better built, too!!

I’m assuming lipstick used to be a lot more expensive?

In Junior High, I can remember the Vice Principal and his “Board of Education” (paddle) that was used on unruly kids. He actually had a wall with 4 of them babies mounted up, so you could pick your punishment. Even parents were on board (yuk, yuk) with corporal punishment back then…..

I don’t think Fritzi liked Nancy very much. Probably resentful at having Nancy dumped into her care, and crimping her swinging single lifestyle, by whatever happened to Nancy’s parents.
