Good Evening All! Well that ends the Flakey Biscuit arc. Tomorrow we start the next case. There will be a major clue to what is coming in panel three. I also wonder if BO has life insurance. (grin)
Anyone else wonder what “The Flakey Biscuits Show” was like? Since Sam was a Flakey Biscuits Crumb I keep thinking it must have been like Howdy Doody or maybe closer to the show Woody was in in Toy Story 2. with some character like Yosemite Sam saying his famous phrase"My biscuits are burning!" For some reason I don’t see Sam as a fan of a cooking show as a kid.
Heck, the guys were doing such a good job with the story, they could have followed it for quite a while to find out what Flakey’s real part in the show was. I think instead of a witness protection program, we need to see the depth of their operation, with her getting a plea deal.
I love the new Art work, but as this story arc closes I’m starting to have a MAJOR complaint—-the stories END TOO SOON.
What—we got all of ONE shoot out, barely a trace of a chase scene, and now the show is over?
This happened with the Flyface/Fifth story too (they and the story got knocked off really early) but I was willing to give you guys the benefit of the doubt, because that was an audition.
But now it’s happened again, and to a very good villain, Hot Rize, who could have led Tracy and Sam on a chase all over the countryside like Breathless Mahoney did back in the day, involve innocent people, build dramatically, and so on.
Instead, she gets dumped with flour and we abruptly move on to another story. COME ON! MORE! You guys are good artists—-don’t wimp out on the stories just as they’re getting going…….just a thought…..
Well, as you recall, in Sam’s history he used to run a deli. So he’s always had an interest in food. I liked the TWO FAT LADIES cooking show myself. And my wife likes Paula Deen.
I agree with those who are saying, slow things down a bit. We can follow a story over a couple of months if interesting things happen. This may take some time, as you have explained that your scripts are several months ahead of what we see. Keep up the great work!
RE: The Plenty Baby:Late in 1960, Chester Gould introduced an abandoned baby – and for at least a week we couldn’t see his face, but the characters in the strip were seen peeking and saying things like “If you can STAND it” “Horrors” “…a baby, with THAT!”.Finally it was revealed that the little tyke had a chin beard, like Col. Sanders. It was further revealed that his father was a distant kin of B.O.Plenty, and the baby ended up staying at the Plenty’s while Tracy helped his mother, a woman named “Fresh”, to sort out her legal troubles.
The baby was in the strip almost a year, thru 3 story arcs, and “Little Boy Beard” could be seen constantly pulling on B.O.‘s whiskers, bending the handle of Gertie’s cast iron pan, busting the neck of Sparkle’s bass fiddle, trashing the office of the former Mayor where Fresh was trying to hold down a job, generally creating havoc everywhere.
Surely this new sub-plot about Attitude Plenty must be a nod by Mike and Joe to this old story!
I am extremely pleased with the new creative team. They have injected new life to a tired strip and have made it exciting once again. However, I agree with petersandy that the stories end too soon. Where are the story complications? We need to see the villian almost get away with it. We need to see the chase. We need to see both Tracy’s and the villian’s reactions to setbacks. We all know that Tracy will win in the end, it just shouldn’t be so easy for him. Once again, KUDOS to the new team.
Okay, maybe I shouldn’t say this, but I will. Yes, we will make the stories longer, but it will be a bit since we work so far ahead. We got certain guidelines when we came on. One thing Tribune liked was the short demo stories, but they were short due to other reasons. Like the famous picture of George Reeves of Superman holding a sign that said NO ONE CAN PLEASE EVERYONE BUT WE TRY. Stick with us, and we’ll try to make everyone happy. Make everyone happy. Find out why we’re talking like this soon.
Okay .. I get it. The new bad guy (or gal) will repeat … sort of like Foghorn Leghorn … I say like Foghorn Leghorn .. are you listening to me boy, you gotta listen when I speak to you boy!!!!!

The Rise and Fall of Flakey Biscuits.
Poor Sam, his membership into the Flakey Biscuits Club has crumbled.
Putting Ms. Biscuits into the Witness Protection Program is the “Yeast the Police can do for her”
Her info might help the cops arrest at least a
“Baker’s Dozen”
I wonder what the gang was called: “The Bad Batch”
