However, Russia has been a major partner with the International Space Station which began with detente, and that has helped defuse tensions until the rise of Putin.
When I was a little kid living in Montgomery Alabama, I put one of my father’s goose bands on a gopher tortoise. After keeping the tortoise a few days, I let it go. Months later somebody living in Mobile Alabama reported finding it; something like 170 miles away. I figured somebody must have saved it from being run over on the highway and just hauled it to Mobile where they let it go; only to be caught again by the guy who reported the band.
There are some ministers that wear the wrap around collar. I sold these collars for years, mostly the Clericool brand, named for its soft plastic easy clean material which was also cool about the neck. The height to of collar denotes the relative position of the minister: low for elders; high for bishops.
With the added cost and complexity of a Mars exploration, it would be a good idea for the US, China, Russia and the EU to combine into a kind of federation space exploring nations. Can the Starfleet be far away?
A friend of mine moved house, it was about 5 miles. Her old dog wandered off so they followed it. Before they could stop it, it jumped onto a bus! They followed the bus, which stopped down the road from their old house. The dog got off and they picked it up in the drive of their old house. My question was ‘how did the dog know which bus to get on?’
That moon mission would be very tricky, since the moon appears at somewhat different times in the two countries…(sort of channeling the old joke about a mission to the sun…)
I just watched a movie (“The Remarkable Mr. Pennypacker”) set in the 1890’s where there was a brief bit about how iconoclastic and forward-thinking one of the characters was because he took to wearing shirts that had the collar incorporated into them rather than separate.
Kansas resident, Cleo Kennedy gave up on constantly cleaning dirty collars from moon men that she had no choice but to move to Russia to avoid their requests.Drink with care. Clean the vest.

Did Cleo leave her family just to back to their old home? Did she hate them, or something? I could use more details, Ripley.

The dog went to fetch the detached collar that they forgot at their old home when moving.
h.v.greenman about 4 years ago
At one time those detachable collars were also made out of cellulose to save on starching and ironing

Hence the old Wisk jingle: “Ring around the collar.”

JFK told Khrushchev that lift off for a lunar mission from Cuba was a deal breaker.
Famed hitchhiker Cleo simply stuck out a leg…or two…or three…
By only needing to change collars, wearing the same shirt every day was commonplace in pre-deodorant U.S. The horses didn’t mind.

That joint USA/Russia space venture might have solved a lot of problems. Humanity could be on Mars by now.

Advancements in clothes, and human, washing have made detachable collars anachronistic.

Currently collars on shirts are the least likely to become clean and are often the first to wear out.

Why would that pet, who must have been abandoned, try to find it’s owners?
