Huh?
Maybe… live-all-de-days?
When the fourth season’s done dear poet, do tell – / Where will you look to see the end of this spell?
Not quite the same but with a line, “Where have all the flowers gone, long time passing?”
Is that all there is, is that all there is
If that’s all there is my friends, then let’s keep dancing
Let’s break out the booze and have a ball
If that’s all there is
Lyrics by Jerry Leiber and Mike Stoller. Sung by Peggy Lee
Time to put the patio furniture away. Except for a few pieces for the occasional warm day.
Oh, the days dwindle down
To a precious few
September, November
And these few precious days
I’ll spend with you
These precious days
—September Song
Loved the comic today….
I still run barefooted in the snow.
Do not go gentle into that good night,Old age should burn and rave at close of day;Rage, rage against the dying of the light…….Dylan Thomas
A song called “Once upon a time”—-this version on Utube is good. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wYG1gJ1LK0s
Atta boy Mr. Johnson. Keep ’em coming. Nice change of pace.
I am the grass; I cover all.
Hmmm It sounds to me like the end of the strip is near.

The poem’s title may be a nod to Vivaldi, composer of the Four Seasons – a musical piece for violin.
I was hoping for a more meaningful final line.
Fleas……Adam Had’em
we are hanging on to Autumn as long as we can.
This comic and the comments really resonated with me. We’ve been married 52½ years. . .
LIVALDI! Mr. JimmyJ, I ❤️ it!
And yes, sometimes I drive my wife crazy too. But it keeps us both young.
When comics turn elegiac
I’m going kicking, screaming, naked and broke.
i suspect the room the light is on…is the bedroom…just sayin’
It snowed here this morning. Southern Wisconsin.
I love Livaldi’s “Four Seasons”. ;-P
And “now is the winter of our discontent.”
A Summer Song ~ Chad & Jeremy….does it for me…. :’^(
I must be missing something, but shouldn’t the last stanza start “Not young but not done, we’ve one season still”? Although I really hate to second guess my favorite cartoonist…
…I look on my life like vintage wine from fine old kegs; it poured sweet and clear, from the brim to the dregs, it was a very good year…

My favorite poet-cartoonist waxes philosophic about being old but not think and acting “old.”And yes, sometimes I drive my wife crazy too. But it keeps us both young.
