For someone who has no other friends, she sure is rude to Agnes.

Excellent Agnes, way to look on the bright side. A half full type person if ever there was one.

I always like the way Agnes almost never gets offended by Trout’s snarky comments.

Interestingly, selfish pursuits often involve providing things which others desire and/or need and are glad to pay for. Trout may have set my beloved Agnes on a better path (for the short time ere she changes directions again).

    ……………………………………………………………………………………………….

An example is seen whenever a disaster strikes. Say a hurricane hits. There is a large demand for chainsaws. If you bring in chainsaws, you will satisfy the needs of those crying out for them. They can begin to restore their lives.

But if chain saws were on sale last week for $100 and you bring in a standard Walmart one for $150, you may be jailed and have your saws confiscated under assumption of price gouging. Natural disasters can be dealt with; government will track you down and presumption of innocence isn’t always assumed.

Many avoid such places and recovery is delayed.

Always the pragmatic Linda “Trout” August as I call her. And her unconventional friend Agnes Dornan née Shoffstoffen. (she is directly related to the poor girl who was killed by hopping snails named Palanadoon Dorémyer some 400-600 years ago. Agnes looks so much like her it is uncanny.) Beware of “hopping snails” Agnes.
