National Cheese Toast Day. I’ve never eaten cheese toast and I’m not really sure what it is.
Greenpeace Day
National Linguine Day
National Felt Hat Day
National Neonatal Nurses Day
National Tackle Kids Cancer Day. I hope someday we can!
National Creme De Menthe Day
National Online Learning Day. I was guessing this “holiday” was created this year because all the schools are teaching online until this stupid virus goes away. But here is what I found when I looked it up.
National Online Learning Day was established in July of 2016. It recognizes the online education community with an official day focusing on the significant achievements made through online schooling and the students attending.
Yesterday, I saw 2 hummingbirds. One was chasing the other. No doubt chasing it away from the hummingbird feeder where I put some sugar syrup on Saturday. I’ve heard that some hummingbirds get possessive of feeders and won’t let other hummers near them. Some will even guard more than one feeder. The trick, they say, is to put out 2 or more feeders that are not in sight of each other. So I want to cook up another small batch of sugar syrup to put in another feeder which I can hang in a different part of the yard
Speaking of “hummers”, the “hummer” who worked in my department quit his job while I was on vacation. He was a nice enough person, but a slow worker. He won’t be missed.
I’m going through some health issues right now. Yesterday I purchased 8 folding chairs at Lowes and thinking that I am still in my 30’s (I am actually just a few months from turning 70), I loaded them into the trunk of my Camry. When I got home, I lifted two up over the railing of my porch before deciding to carry the rest up the steps. A few hours later my shoulder reminded me that I shouldn’t have done that. In order to sleep last night I had to take a muscle relaxer. Lesson learned.
In the early summer I started feeding my barn cat (the one who belongs to my neighbors, but prefers to eat in my barn and visit with me when I’m feeding the donkey) on a picnic table on my front porch. l’d often see her coming up for crunchies…and always leaving a few in the bowl for a later snack, I guess. The last 3 days the bowl has been cleaned out, morning and late afternoon. This morning I fed about 7:30 (cat, dog, wild birds and donkey) and left the house at 7:50 to go to town to get groceries. As I walked out the front door, I heard the unmistakable sound of a cat jumping off a table. I called Hallie, and it was not her, but a small gray cat that stopped and looked at me, I called it and it came closer, but when I stepped forward it ran again. So apparently I may have attracted an older kitten….thinking maybe 6 months old. Light gray and fuzzy, with a sweet face. I already have a Gracie so I will have to think of a name for her(?) or him(?).
Oh, those unfortunate Bavarians. They won’t know what hit them! On another note, saw two dragonflies, a flock of sparrows, a rabbit and two robins while out walking today. I also heard a woodpecker.

She’s just jealous she didn’t think of that first. After all those pastries, Ches will have to waddle off the plane.

I have to wonder if Chesney really is in Bavaria or if he’s really still in the USA. Time will tell.

It’s like a three-ring circus here, with four residents, a mama and her almost two-week-old babies, and four very rambunctious house panther kittens!
