what’s so scary about the presidential election to a ten-year-old like Jason? (thank goodness I finally got my ballot arrived in the mail some few days ago and filled it out yesterday)
In Texas it is one drop box per county and only those >65, disabled, out of town on elect day can vote by mail and then your signature has to match ?? / — the ballot they send only has your first name while your voter card also has your middle name so it is not clear how to sign and if you guess wrong they do not inform you if your ballot has been rejected. There are numerous early voting sites and that is how I voted (yellow dog Democrat since 1972).
The electoral college has done more damage to this country accidentally than any other organization could have done on purpose. Wonder what would have happened if Gore had won in 2000. His focus ( obsession actually) is climate change. Would the west coast be burning down if we had actually done as much as possible to prevent global warming starting 20 years ago? Would hurricanes and tornados be getting stronger and more wide spread every year? I doubt it.
Then they gave us Trump, who has given us the Trump plague which has caused the middle class to lose jobs and die a lot. Would this have happened it Obama’s pandemic response team hadn’t been cut out of the 2018 budget, just months before the plague hit? Again, I doubt it.
Everything we are dealing with would have been less of a problem if the electoral college hadn’t installed a president that the American people voted against
I already voted, but my vote doesn’t count as I live in the Great and Almighty Sovereign Socialist State of Free Money, Rampant Regulation and Grotesque Overtaxation formerly known as California.
Definitely the election, I will be very glad when this is over, it seems like it has just been splitting and splitting people into two sides in one country.
My first thought was the dental bills that result from the overindulgence in the sugary treats that are everywhere at this time of year. That’s pretty terrifying.
Dude the election actually is heated. I have a side I support but I won’t say it online here. Just gonna say that there are bad things on both sides that they are taking advantage of, and that’s scary
Trump signed an illegal executive order two days ago that if court orders don’t stop it will take effect the day before the inauguration, the earliest it could, essentially doing away with the civil service requirements we’ve had since the 1800s: every Federal worker will serve only under condition of political loyalty, to Trump should he be reelected. Political obeisance will be the primary measure by which you keep or lose your job, no matter how good you are or what you do or how important your work is or how far removed from the White House it is. Scientists would be forced to okay a vaccine Trump invests in or be fired, even if that one has dire side effects and another does not. Fauci, who is not otherwise in Trump’s direct chain of command, would be out. Nobody would be free to speak out without losing their jobs.
Let’s set all the politicians outside November 2nd. When the asteroid goes by, those with the most hot air will get sucked off the Earth by the asteroid gravity. We can dream it’s true right?

I agree Halloween this year until 11/2 is scary time. For us our advance ballot came through and we already voted. Be glad election is done.
