I have three Siberian Huskies like Kenny, and I can attest that, as long as a porcupine doesn’t run from Kenny, the porcupine is safe – and porcupines don’t run from anything! (Kenny will get a quill or three from sticking his nose close to smell the animal, however!)
Art imitates life! Last night on Dr. Jeff, Rocky Mountain Vet, a client brought in a Husky who’d gotten too close to a porcupine & ended up with 30 quills in his nose. Thank goodness the vets sedated the poor pooch to pull them all out!

I have two larger dogs that learned the lesson the hard way. Fortunately for all of us (inc. the Vet), they did learn.

For Kenny, where there’s a quill there’s a way.
