I have seen this more than once. I am sitting in a public space with a friend or friends. A beautiful, well-dressed woman walks by, and she is so strikingly good looking that men in the vicinity spontaneously applaud. The woman just walks through this, ignoring all the attention, and joins her friends. Later, as I am in the same place, an attractive man walks by. Several women in the crowd applaud or hoot at him, and the guy immediately starts looking all around, trying to figure out who it was.

As a cashier at a grocery store, my daughter has to be careful how she replies to the customer who asks, ‘Excuse me, can you check me out?’ My favorite silent reply from her is, ‘So needy’.

A high rise skyscraper in Chicago had some of the slowest elevators in town. It was a constand subject of debate and anger by the tenants.

The Property managers tried to fix the problem, but every solution was over $1M USD. After months of quotes, and estimates, they arrived at an amazing solution.

They installed mirrors inside the elevator cars and on the exterior doors. People were so involved with checking themselves out (or maybe their neighbors) that they forgot how long they were waiting for the elevator. Total Cost of the upgrade: $20,000.

Every time I looked around to see at whom they were hooting, and whistling, I would invariably walk into a telephone pole.
