Who has not worked for a manager/supervisor like that at some time during working life? Sims not only got paid but apparently gets some perks too! Must be a title that goes with the job.
I’m not sure what’s worse…A boss who puts up with a paid scapegoat so he doesn’t have to be right all the time, or a boss who thinks he is right all the time.
I guess they do not have to actually exclude one another, the boss is right all the time except for when the scapegoat screws up.
Often there was guy at the used car lot who would offer you a literally unbelievable deal, which he then had to take to the manager. The manager would shout at him that the price was impossible and fire the salesman, then take you into a room where you were offered a much more believable, i.e. expensive, deal. If you went back an hour later, the salesman would once again be on the lot selling cars.
