It reminds me of the outpouring of grief from fans of the comic strip For Better or Worse when the family dog Farley died in April of 1995. There were letters and newspaper articles for days after. He was occasionally shown to chase squirrels… who sometimes seemed to enjoy it.
Lost one of our dogs at the beginning of the pandemic and we have to make the tough choice “soon” about one with congestive heart failure, trying to make sure she isn’t suffering but only a matter of time. Not looking forward to that time.
Sweet, but shouldn’t the cat be in Dad’s arms, bawling? We all know the dog and cat were best buds. (If this toon is referencing the loss of your real-life dog, I’m sorry for your loss, Harry.)

Silently sharing the same fears”♫

I will always remember the dogs and cats who were gracious and generous to stay with us throughout the years.

The squirrel that Trump’s been wearing on his head is now unemployed.

The drooping leaf all alone at top left is sad too.
