Not the time Paige falls asleep on the job and Katie takes scissors to her own dress, is it? Or perhaps the time Katie learns “new vocabulary” from the television on a different channel?
During the 1970’s and into the early 1980’s, the “PhoneMate” brand became eponymous with the product itself, like “Q-tip” for “cotton swab”, and “Band-Aid” for “adhesive bandage”. Everybody talked about their “PhoneMate messages” or “leaving a message on the PhoneMate” regardless of what brand their device actually was. The language changed to saying “answering machines” in the 1990’s, and then to “voice mail” some time in the early 2000’s or 2010’s.

Could have been worse. My youngest brother was six in 1999 and very much into Power Rangers, Pokemon and Yu-Gi-Oh.
