    Good morning™, all!

Tracy is lucky that the dart only hit the wall, but that lost daisy is going to be a useful clue. I recall Posie Ermine also losing a flower, if I remember right.

Daisy’s new in town so he doesn’t know that when you shoot at Tracy and miss you’re at least supposed to give us the courtesy of leaving a hole in his hat!

Tracy didn’t see a bullet now.

    It was a dart.

And even if it hit – dead or alive, the MCU would have a clue.

The dart plus the daisy should have Tracy back in the perfume shop. And if they’ve a security camera… I wonder if the dart gun is a way to work in violence without the bullets; the last story only had one violent incident (confrontation at the end) as the murder was off screen.

Taking a potshot at any police officer is foolish. Taking one at Dick Tracy is far more so. And leaving the dart and the daisy behind….

And to think that Daisy’s favorite album is Elvis Costello’s “My Aim Is True”. What irony, right???

I have one nitpick on the art today – In panel one, Daisy’s pants are high waters. I think his obvious sense of style would never allow such ill-cut garments in his closet. Well, maybe today’s Tracyville forecast called for torrential rain? OK. I’ll allow it. BUT IT BETTER RAIN IN TOMORROW’S STRIP!

The twppp reminds me of the silencer sound effects from the 1970s crime dramas and movies. Not accurate at all.

This is what silencers truly sound like:

Daisy defining dumb villain again! As I asked yesterday, why even stop to shoot at Tracy? Just get outta there! But, no, our would-be Slayer of the Legend had to take his potshot, and of course he missed (though I am amazed at how Tracy managed to duck the dart); but he did drop his daisy-trademark, which Tracy will doubtlessly recognize, putting two and two together.

Let’s all say it again: dumb Daisy, dumb!

Not a total waste! I accomplished what I came for, and then alerted Dick Tracy to my presence for no reason.

Great reflexes. Oh, since GoComics is trying for force me to buy their “premium” package in order to save my favorites, I guess I’ll be scrolling down the list, just like I do at Comics Kingdom. Some of us aren’t made of money.

    Agree with Leo, above.

This still feels like a Minit Mystery to me!

    Mystery to me?

Think I’ll go listen to some Fleetwood Mac!

What I would like to see (and it’s probably late at this stage of the game with the lead time on story-writing) would be that Daisy is disposed of, and the MCU is left with clues and evidence to deal with regarding his death. Have Yeti lay low for a 6-9 month period in the strip, and deal with a few other crimes, then have Yeti come back into play (and perhaps be the reason for the interim crimes to happen).

The problem with strips like Dick Tracy is that they usually only focus on one crime at a time, when in real life multiple crimes may be dealt with simultaneously. I’d like to see a period of time where the MCU are dealing with multiple issues during the same period, and plotlines (related or not) going on simultaneously.

Basically the Paul Levitz method of storytelling.

I think today’s audience could handle something like this, and it would serve to inject (no pun intended) some vitality into the strip.

So dropped the daisy, and left behind a dart with poison it it – for the police who are looking for a poisoner.
