My wife and kids like my beard. I trim mine using a 3mm trimmer comb, twice a week.

A neat, trimmed beard is fine but I think the few days old stubble (which I recall was popularized by Don Johnson in the “Miami Vice” days) looks ridiculous. If nothing else, it looks lazy and unkempt. I can’t imagine any woman would find it attractive on a man (especially the “sandpaper” effect on the woman’s skin!). If a woman doesn’t want to shave her legs, I suppose that’s her business and no issue at all if she wears trousers most all the time. What I object to is when a woman’s legs are hairier than mine!
