Still an asterisk. Granted the Dodgers proved to be the better team, but (there’s always a but) they were 100 or so games shy of a full, gruelling, injury riddled, mind game season. Hence, the asterisk. Congrats to the Trolley Dodgers, in the meantime…I was rooting for you.

Hello, when do we start the SJOTY awards?

The strike season of 1994 (no playoffs, no World Series) definitely has asterisks next to the individual awards (Cy Young, MVP, batting champions, etc). But how many people remember them there asterisks?

Everyone played the same number of games with the same set of rules. The playoff format was more grueling than ever before without days off (until the WS). The best team won and Kevin Cash made it even easier for them. No asterisk needed.

Those asterisks are really building up this year.
