Cats have cravings like people. I would tend to trust a cats dietary preferences. My neighbor’s cat comes around for a mooch, a couple of times a day. He was in bad shape from being locked up somewhere by accident for a couple of days. I kept trying different foods until I found one that he liked, but didn’t throw up five minutes later. Now he is back to normal weight, his coat is glossy and he mooches much smaller portions. (Treats are another story – too many calories.)
I’ve always had multiple cats, and they would pretty much eat anything we put down (we fed them premium quality food). Last year, our last two cats died within a day of each other, and we adopted just one. She is our first finicky cat and I’ve never had to deal with it before now! I think because our previous cats always had competition for their food. They viewed it as a race and didn’t want the other cats to get their portion!

Fine – leave it for Earl. No, you’re not getting anything else.
