I’ve seen that sometimes at the grocery store I work at and ask maskless shoppers if they need a mask which it eurekas them and makes them return to their car, but I say I can rush into the store and get them one.
This is me most of the time. If I know I’m going to need it, I try to lay it over my phone that usually sits on the passenger seat charging. Usually works but not always.
We leave ours sitting on the console so I rarely forget it and usually put it on before getting out of the vehicle. If I do forget, I’m usually not more than a few steps away when I get that ‘naked’ feeling.
Some weeks ago, a guy in the grocery, trying to make light of this hell, says he forgot his mask, and was walking back to his car, to drive home and get it. And there on the pavement was a used mask! The one he is wearing. He got some real social distancing.
We’ve got some locally-owned stores that have people to not wear a mask while in their store so their cameras can see them. Most other stores don’t care whether you have one on or not so about half of the people do not wear one, and each time I have to go to the store, I see more and more people of all ages without them. One place has a sign on the door requesting masks but none of their employees have them on, so very few customers do as well.
Please don’t hang masks…or handicap parking tags…from your rear-view mirror. The parking tags even state this on them. Good way to block your vision and cause an accident, miss seeing that pedestrian, motorcycle, etc.
I have several masks with beads threaded onto the elastics to tighten them. Bought reading glasses cords at the dollar store & slipped the ends over the beads. Works perfectly.
At home, I hang my mask du jour over my keys on the same hook. If I want to go out, I have to move the mask to get to the keys.

I almost solved that problem by wearing it as a bracelet, when outside.

I don’t want mine there. What if it absorbs all the heat in the car?

I have one that hangs around my neck and I can easily pull up. Still have a spare in the console.

We made lanyards and just leave them hanging about our necks like reading glasses.

Worthless. If you experienced what I have the last several months, most medical people would rather be w/o them, too.
