Bet the girls’ conversation went like this: “Tracey, what do you see in Gordon? He is a dork.” Tracey defends him, “He is not a dork if he is Mike’s friend. Mike is a cool guy and he doesn’t hang with dorks.” Martha says, “Aha. Mike is cool, but trust me, Gordon is dorky. And he wants Allyson and not you. Why are you even on a date with him. I bet he thinks about Allyson when he is with you. That proves that you are dorky like him! Only dorks would date someone who is pining for some other person.” Tracey, now fuming, “I KNOW he likes Allyson. So what? This is not a date-date. Just friends hanging together to see a movie.” Then the boys come back from the snackbar. The girls ignore each other from there on.
My first date was to the movie theater: The Santa Clause 2 starring Tim Allen. We shared a big bucket of popcorn, but didn’t finish it by the end of the movie; we did — however — touch hands one time while going through that bucket.
Is this really something that Gordon needs instruction for? This makes it seem like Gordon has never been to a movie theater before. I seem to remember that Gordon went to the movies with Michael and Martha last year. I guess Gordon didn’t pay attention to what Mike and Martha did.
My first “date” was going to see Romeo and Juliet. The boy was brave enough to hold my hand and for two hours, I was too scared to move my hand. By the end of the movie, my whole arm had fallen asleep and I was in agony! (Middle school love). HAHAHA
Children, children……..My first date we watched Soylent Green with Charlton Heston. I was 17. I got more handfuls than popcorn I remember. She turned into the mother of my son. He’s 45 now.
Our first date was to the original movie Benji. 34 years later we reconnected and got married. We found a copy of the movie and watched it again. After seeing what she endured on our first date I am surprised she was willing to try again. ;)
i’ve never dated. As a teen it was always “You’re a nice guy but….” Then I got older, picked up a hitchhiker who moved in with me that day and didn;t leave for 8 years, then got picked up at a coffee shop by a woman whose life motto was “I need a man. Any man will do.” Two years later that ended and i no longer talk to anyone when I leave home out of fear that the next woman will be crazy.

Gordon would feel even cooler if he were sitting under the AC.
