Babies that age drive me crazy. My granddaughter does this once in a while – throw food that she doesn’t want to eat on the floor instead of leaving them on the tray. She LOVES to pour her milk on the tray and yes, on the floor, too. And she is 21 months old. Her mother has her drink from a sippy cup and brings it to my house. I put it on the counter and have her drink milk in a baby bottle so she would drip less milk. I am just waiting for her to outgrow it before allowing her to drink from the sippy cup. If I remember her older brother, that would be around age 3. So, around one more year…
I read this strip for many years and I never warmed up to April. She was an unnecessary addition. There was plenty of material with just Mike and Lizzie on the child side. April was fairly annoying from birth to the end of the strip.
When I was a baby we had a dog. Sadly, she passed away before my younger brother was born. My mom couldn’t figure out why he was so much messier than I was while eating until she remembered the dog situation. Dogs are great at baby clean up.
I have a picture of my granddaughter when she was a toddler in her highchair on the front lawn with spaghetti everywhere. Tray, seat, face, hair, she has the biggest grin on her face,“I’m a mess and I love it!”
I know I have said this repeatedly in replies to some of the above comments but April is only 8 months old. She is not yet a toddler. She is not yet capable of judgement or of feeding herself. At that age, most parents are still spoon feeding. They don’t leave the kid alone with a bowl of food.

I don’t know who pointed it out yesterday but they were right. They did not train dog-train April.

Too late for the helmet. The dish and glass are already thrown.

One would think that Farley would shake the helmet off.

When my kids April’s age I fed them, to prevent what April does as a toddler.

I remember feeding oatmeal to my son. I just put a spoonful in his mouth and he sneezed. Had to change my shirt.
