Duffy’s been so full of bravado that I’d wondered whether he was wearing the amulet that Chic gave him. https://www.gocomics.com/endtown/2019/09/25?ct=v&cti=1551577 He either believes in it a little bit, or didn’t want to disappoint “the kid”. We’ll see if in Aaron’s universe the amulet has any effect, or not.
So much for my (admittedly far-fetched) theory of the vortex being helpful, hah! It’s the evil Eye entity. It’s interesting to note that it says Wally & Co. cannot join. Since they’ve already transformed into anthros, further transformations aren’t possible, evidently. (They wouldn’t have wanted to join that insane mess anyway.)
Time to close your eyes, grip that medallion, click your heels…..start repeating “There’s no place like home.” (Tin Lion and Cowardly Elephant just gotta make due.)
So what have we learned here today? Ted can control any “schismed” object. It’s safe to say the feral toothbrushes aren’t much different than the insane anthros like Jim. Also, that the space between the worlds is his domain. Makes sense if this IS a continuation of Free Energy and this all started with “tunneling.”
It also looks like in whatever worlds it infests ‘I’ gradually overtakes the beings it corrupts until they are as warped inside as they are outside. It also gives a horrifying insight as to why the Topsiders blast mutants to pieces without hesitation: The mutants. much as the toothbrushes are pseudopods of the larger entity and they just don’t know it yet. Everything hasn’t been a war against mutants but a desperate attempt to stave off an otherworldly invasion via a parasitic, eldritch obscenity.

That appears to be an Evil Eye Charm he is pulling from his shirt.
They are very common in Mediterranean countries.

It’s a reminder that he is loved. I wonder if Duffy and Alan are hearing something different..?

I’ve sure missed Kirbee.

Duffy’s crying; Some seriously big emotions on tap to supercharge that magic amulet.
pammyrat about 4 years ago
The love that Kirbee put into the amulet may be enough to save them all!

Aaron knows cats. Wallys ear position says so much!

The “Eye” certainly is presenting them with much choice – it’s fight or be killed. Here’s to Duffy the Brave!

I hope wherever we go next, it’s not a swirling red mess. Do I need a bottle of Clear Eyes or a dose of Dramamine? Is there a pharmacy nearby?
cherns Premium Member about 4 years ago
Actually, if I understand things (not assured), under the circumstances, I would take “You cannot join me” as kind of good news.

Duffy’s about the prove his worth.
theatomicsoul1 about 4 years ago
That’s an “Evil Eye”; it’s intended to reflect ill intent cast upon you back to the one who created it. I can’t recall who gave it to him though.
