What a wonderful strip that can have me laughing out loud already in the first panel. The Trubble telescope. That’s rich.

It makes it easier to see the fun stuff w/o having to worry about what you’re really looking at…or at least what the technical name is.

Hey Dr Mel, ask Cliff, he’s the engineer after all.

Dr. Mel is sending Brewster to fix something? Either he’s not as smart as his bald head belies or he has some serious dislike for the makers of this Trubble telescope.

This strip has the same punchline as a Dilbert strip I once read; Catbert said that the company would no longer pay for eyeglasses, but would support a certain corrective procedure (and it wasn’t radial keratotomy).

Squinting at the stars works just fine, if I remember my constellations and wear my driving glasses. It works best of all in the hot tub after a couple of glasses of a nice Zinfandel.

Reduces the number of photons entering but improves inherent focus. Interesting to imagine a pinhole telescope.

I like the idea of attaching a tiny line to the Hubble leading to a tractor craft above it to slowly lift it to a higher orbit. Some consider letting magnetic fields do the lifting.
