Not sure what the pizza has to do with it, but by not bringing it up Arlo succeeded in making Janis happy. Marriage can be like walking through a cow pasture. Sometimes, not usually, but sometimes you just might make it through without stepping in it.

He’s a good husband. If he was annoyed that she ate the leftover pizza (because HE wanted it), he might have said, “Have you GAINED weight? Looking a little heavy in the middle…” and thus making her feel guilt. I’m glad he didn’t do that.
