That’s right, the Pilgrim Fathers came from England not France hence the fact that part of the northeastern US is known as New England. They sailed from Plymouth and so they called the place where they landed Plymouth Rock.
Other parts of the eastern US where originally colonised by French settlers. These include North and South Carolina. I understand that Kansas and Arkansas are pronounced differently because one uses the English pronounciation and the other uses the French pronounciation.
More like fish& chips from England. Wrapped up in news paper with vinegar and salt. Knock yourselves out boys. Please pass the cranberry sauce in the shape of can it came in or the mold of Jell-O with red hots in it, that was the end of wife one! Ha
The pilgrims invited a few Indian friends. A huge mob of Indians came, worrying the pilgrims. Fortunately they brought with them LOTS of food, including deer and turkeys.

Yeah, I would say it is a bit ironic that because they were from England, they would have been more likely to have french fries.
