Mother Nature is putting her own star on this year. One that has not been seen for 800 years. Astrologers believe is it the same sighting as appeared to the Magi.
I’m hoping that I get to see the Great Conjunction, but rain is predicted here in Oregon, so probably not. Even though the main event is Dec. 21, the few days before and after should still be pretty bright.
I Just finished ‘vetting’ one of my once ‘dependable’ light strings which no longer is. What’s left of it will be added into the mix of new lights because this Christmas seems like we need all the lights we can find.
Never saw the popcorn/cranberry strings but probably would have been punished for eating the decorations.
Our star is a 7" cross-eyed angel of cardboard and felt with golden hair. Despite her eyes she held her head up and her candle straight and looked like a very sweet child. We found her somewhere 5 decades ago and chose her because she was special. How could we not?
We send best wishes and prayers to everyone for a wonderful holiday season, odd as it seems, and a brighter new year.
People of others faiths and beliefs have been celebrating at this time for years before Christ, and Christianity co-opted their festivals. Christ is a, but not the, reason for the season
it’s already pretty bright out there – hoping for clear skies here in So Cal altho we are in desperate need of rain – it can show up AFTER 12/21 — should be very cool. They’ve been getting closer and closer for the past few months (I walk my dogs about 6 p.m so I’ve been keeping close tabs)

Funny. What star would I put on top? What star would you put on top? May Christ be the ultimate true star (focus) of Christmas.

Prefer a star or at least an angel as a sign of the Reason For The Season. Christ’s birth.

Very cute… silly, but smile-worthy in a stressful time!
