Hah! We discussed “Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall” earlier in the story, but even after Daisy’s slip I never imagined Yeti’s ultimate destruction would literally be a fall. Very nice!!
Another more chilling ending would have the last panel showing Clyde pulling a struggling web-covered Yetti down into the sewers … dragging him from behind … by the neck.
Another one bites the dust! I guess we will never learn the final fate of Daisy, but the spider seems headed off in search of adventure in the sewer tunnels. I still wonder about these buildings that have an entrance to the sewer tunnels. I wonder if Yeti made that connection himself.
All of the panels are great , but the first one is really great , the Yeti fighting with the BIG spider . The only thing that I question is why didn’t the Spider wrap up Yeti in a web so he could eat him later ? At least that is what I usually see in the movies . The LORD of the Rings comes into question .
Not all spiders use webbing to wrap up their prey, or spin webs. Don’t know what kind of hybrid this is, or how it defies laws of physics in regard to size. We have no idea if fall or spider venom is reason for Yeti’s limp condition. (We can’t even tell if he is dead or unconscious.) But my question is, does this show a real door and staircase in the perfume factory leading directly to the storm drain that is always being called a sewer? A doorway and stairs, to a sewer? Or is this this simply to underground storage/basement beneath perfume factory and sewer entrance is somewhere down in that basement and we don’t see it? The question matter for those wondering where spider is heading.
Yikes! I thought those images of the giant spider were just perspective making him seem huge! But that thing’s HUGE! Good luck to getting Terminex to kill him!
Wichita has been saying this is the last day. If there is no wrap up tomorrow, this is an awful way to leave a story. That spider loose in the storm sewers, where innocent city workers will eventually run into it? And also, at the end of the day, Tracy really didn’t do much to catch the bad guy, again. I, like lots of us, thought this story had a lot of promise. We seem to have really fizzled at the end.
The angles of the stairway in the first panel are strange. The railing goes down at a steeper angle than the stairs. In fact, I can’t tell if the stirs go down or up.
Well, folks, that’s it for Yeti and me. Thanks for tolerating me, and thanks to the creative team for their excellent work. See you in the funny pages (so to speak)!
If this is it, Total letdown. Still no reason for meteorite theft, or what Yeti’s racket really was. Can we assume these stories are cut short by fiat, because they really don’t work. This arc had tons of possibilities, none of which came to fruition.
Looks like the spider is wretching from having to bite him. “EW that guy tasted like dirt! I need to choose my dinner better. So who’s next?” The unsuspecting person who has to open that place up.

Lab being searched. Yeti does lurch behind a steel locked door
Grab up files and formulas. Escape to be seen no more.
His plan went south. Down in the mouth, the sewer calls his name
Rabbit is dead. Daisy is down. Perfume don’t smell the same.
Must get away. Another day may find a lucky break
Day turned sour. At this hour, a new path he shall take.
Down the stairs to darkness. The webs that creatures weave
A spider bite gives Yeti fright. Soon this life he shall leave.
Toxin flows all through his veins. Now Yeti unaware
Heart’s last beat. An end not sweet. Death in the spider’s lair.
Yeti fled. Now Yeti’s dead. A chemist oh so violent
Now ‘tis quiet as the tomb. Still. Serene and silent.

Wichita, does that mean we’re in for a sequel?

Leaving aside the “spiders don’t get even close to that big,” a spider that size doesn’t need venom…it can just crush its prey. :)
