National Eat a Cranberry Day. I’ve never actually eaten a cranberry. I have eaten that cranberry stuff that comes in a can, sort of like thick Jell-o. I like that stuff, but rarely eat it.
Off topic here, but I had to mention what happened at work yesterday and how I discovered how a little sarcasm can have dramatic results.
I got to work at 9:00 in the morning and I found my Christmas department in a total shambles, as if nobody had zoned it on Saturday night (Zoning is our term for straightening, pulling products forward on the shelves, putting things where they belong, etc.). So, I started zoning the Christmas lights, which were a total mess. It took nearly half an hour to set things straight. I zoned some of the ornaments and other Christmas stuff too. I also had 3 shopping carts full of assorted merchandise that needed to be put away.
Meanwhile, the assistant manager and a back room manager were bringing pallet after pallet of freight for me to work on. They brought back 10 pallets in all. So, I put away a couple shopping carts full of stuff (I never finished the last cart and I’d bet dollars to donuts that cart will still be there when I get back to work Monday afternoon).
So, we have an associate named Patrick who doesn’t really do much of anything all day. I see him standing around doing nothing more than I ever see him actually working. So, at one point, just to be sarcastic, I told him, “If you need something to do, I could use some help in Christmas”. I was the only one in my department, just like I always am on Sundays. He said he was scheduled in sporting goods (as if that means anything) and he said he just worked a whole pallet of toys freight. I told him that I had just worked a pallet of Christmas freight and I had 9 more pallets to go. Well, that had no affect on him, so I went back to working on my pallets. It was about a half hour before I was to go home when he announced to me that he had just helped someone in my department. That’s where I got really sarcastic and I said, “Wow – and all I did was work 10 pallets of Christmas freight!” (continued)
Nice try, Chesney, but you’re still getting coal for Christmas! (sorry if that sounds mean.) On another note, saw a squirrel and two chickadees while out walking today.
I am sitting all tangled in cords that are not where they are supposed to be because Yuri (Yesmin’s mom) and my daughter re-worked my ceiling (texture) and painted the walls blue in the bedroom where my computer is also located. Not much in here but the computer and the bed and Lady Bird’s bed. However I saw a Pine Siskin today…back for the winter.

I would be very wary if I were you, Annie. The Orange Menace most likely has ulterior motives.

And Annie shouldn’t be reading by the light of a single candle. And if its dark enough for a candle, why isn’t she home?

Chesney knows that Santa Claws is watching. He know if you’ve been bad or good, so be good for goodness sake.

Maybe Chesney can be good for 5 weeks. Maybe.

Neither Annie nor Santa Claus is going to fall for that act, Chesney.

Sandy Paws has Cheney’s number – he’s no fool. I canceled the trip to CO this morning. I just don’t think it’s safe to travel right now.

Stretch out on her lap, gaze lovingly, reach up and pat her face, purr loudly. She’ll be putty in your hands. Works on me every time. :)
