Our mini-chihuahua (RIP) decided to do a runner off our balcony into the snow almost level with the deck. Fresh snowfall. About 12" of powder, She was not amused.
I had 2 chihuahuas and the female “hated” the cold and snow (just lost her Tuesday to complications of Congestive Heart Failure) and she was not happy at this time of year, and it was a cause and effect situation. She didn’t like the snow and took too long to do her “business” and that would make her not want to go outside to do her “business” The male just runs outside very quickly and sometimes just does his “business” on the deck and runs back in, she never learned that trick.

The small dogs I know leap out of the snow the way porpoises leap out of the water.
…no, porpoises do not typically leap out of the snow.

My dachshund stays away from the rain but loves the snow. And yes, does the snow phugoid.
