We have a somewhat reverse situation here, two grown Labrador Retrievers and room on the couch for just three of the four of us so someone sits by themself in a chair, while the dogs are on either side of the other person on the couch. At least you are warm on the couch.
One of my cats keeps a watchful on me, when I’m petting my other cat. She doesn’t mind the other cat getting affection; she just makes sure Raz doesn’t get more than her share .
