The first time I ever went sailing was as a 10 year old and the boat owners kept shouting “port” and “starboard” at me. We capsized, and I thought I was gonna die, until I realized I was standing in 3 feet deep water.
Today’s strip got me to reminiscing. I’ve been a member of several water-ski clubs over the last 60 years or so, with some world-class female skiers; but cannot recall a single one behind the wheel, at any time. Maybe there is a reason.

Is that pride he’s swallowing? Wonder that boat actually floated given the tonnage it is carrying.

Researching 18th century seafaring. In those days, it was “Larboard” and “Starboard.” Boy, THAT must have confused things!
