Sweetie, I’m 47 and have no kids. Yet I still like the kiddie holiday shows like Rudolph, Frosty (still cry when he melts!), Santa Claus is Comin’ to Town, and Christmas Eve on Sesame Street (which I actually bought). I even went to a store’s grand opening just because Gordon from Sesame Street was going to be there (I was in my 20s, probably). That’s how I found out the name of the Christmas show I was looking for because I kept finding others.
Is today’s strip a reference to the story arc/comic strip when Marigold was in the unicorn talent show, and her talent was being funny? And how Phoebe said “boogers” was funny?
There are definitely things I still love from childhood – but my taste for them has evolved and I enjoy them for different reasons. All of the Charlie Brown holiday specials probably sit in that space.

Growing up just means learning to give off the illusion of dignity.

Trying not to ask how old Marigold is. I am a gentleman after all.

Grow old, yes. Grow up, never.

Aging is mandatory (unless you’re a Unique Orn, apparently), but growing up is optional.

Growing up isn’t all it’s cracked up to be. That’s why I refused Adulthood.

You’ve been reading that “Ozy & Millie” strip again, haven’t you, Marigold?

Great comeback – I’m stealing it. And it’ll get a lot of use!

You don’t stop having fun because you get older. You get older if you stop having fun.
Have fun, “kid”.
