The lady is desperate. :) She has had past experience of her husband’s DIY skills or lack of them. :) Some husbands are good at DIY and some are not. I have had both sorts so I speak from experience.

But he does have his Dickie overalls, leather gloves, tool belt, hard hat and steel toed boots.

If the Little Woman gives no respect then you never know when the workmen might need some help.

Buy him a nail gun for Christmas. Then sit back and record the fun.

Get your husband some duct tape and a pair of vice grips; you should be good to go.

Sounds to me like she’s a VERY smart lady. Also thrifty. It’ll cost more if the pro has to take out what hubby has already messed up!

Sounds to me like they should move to a house with a deck. Much safer.

Then again, since she knows what a tack hammer and a Phillips screwdriver are, maybe she should take charge and build the deck. Let him feel manly and “supervise.” There is no reason to assume a man should build the deck.

The only time I might find myself in Hubby’s inadequately tooled position would be following a robbery. And then, armed with insurance money and an excuse, it would be buyin’ time. But I am not her Hubby.

when we moved into our newly built house I thought all the stuff in the bathrooms looked like hotel/motel stuff so I made all new like medicine cabinets and towel holders.
