Yes… ballet at career day, because any high school student with no experience, can suddenly start ballet and have it as a career (then again, I am not too sure trucking is usually a career day thing, either…)

Well, that took a turn. First it seems like a good point is being made, then immediately afterwards Evans decides, Nah, pointlessness is somehow funny.

A ballet has male and female dancers. I heard some football coaches wanted their punters and place kickers to take ballet lessons. The workouts the ballet dancers do supposedly were good for kickers.

In the early 1970’s a lot of women were considering blue collar jobs like carpentry and truck driving. I knew at least one professional female truck driver. I think at the time the jobs paid better than lots of the white collar desk jobs most women could get at the time.

After taking lessons for a couple of years, I belly danced at a party with my friends and fellow students. Afterward, a “tough guy” from New York, who had done everything from sailing solo to Hawaii to holding the shotgun at a marijuana deal said it was the bravest thing he’d ever seen a man do. :)

Engine (locomotive) driver and bus conductor were two favourite dream jobs for many kids while I was growing up.

The men in ballet are enormously strong, and they’re surrounded by women.

Spotlighting gender identity? Or gender bashing? Or how society’s gender identity pressure influences our youth?

By highschool it’s a bit late to take up ballet-I was 9 when I started and that was too late!-but whomever the boy is he may be on to something. My corps de ballet was like 20 girls and 2 boys. :D
