My spouse got the antique organ.

That’s a joke with already a very long beard.

I can’t stop laughing. One of my gifts this year to my wife was a cordless power drill! I just hope she didn’t get me earrings!

Somehow, the gifts were perfect.

My ex husband was my best friend for many years.

We always went to his parent’s house for Christmas dinner, for almost two decades after our divorce (I know, I know… only in California.)

Neither of us had much money… and some family members were exchanging expensive gifts, in front of everybody else .

So we agreed that we’d always give each other the same thing…

a Christmas card with a nice note and a check for $100 in it…. which we never cashed.

Looked good, cost nothing… and nobody ever commented on the absurdity.

Not a bad routine. Insures you ultimately get the right gift….

That’s why they call it gift ‘exchanging’.

One year, my friend bought his decidedly un-technical wife an oculus rift.

Books, games, booze, hiking gear, candy, comics … the usual haul.
