I sent out my Christmas cards today, and my writing hand kept cramping up… I’m so not used to actually writing. My finger however, has real muscle. LOL
Wow – once the roofers tore off my old gutters & downspouts, it sure looked ugly! I missed getting pictures of that. But I took “before” pictures before the roofers came, just to show how rough and worn the old shingles looked. And I got a few “in progress” pictures yesterday, including one with one of the roofers on the 2-story part of my house. While the guy who owns the roofing business is Amish, I didn’t see any other Amish workers aside from him, so I felt okay about getting this one in a picture. I know the Amish don’t want their pictures taken, so I will honor that and not take any pictures of him. I expect to be awakened again in the morning as the roofers come back to finish the job (hopefully, they’ll finish it today). I hope they finish the slanted roof before they start work on the flat roof because the flat roof is right outside of my bedroom windows and I want to sleep in.
I managed to make it to 70 but no Red Lobster lunch this year. Maybe I’ll make the cats wear party hats – that should be amusing. If I serve shrimp tails, will Chesney and the gang come? I’ll even let Lily wear my crown – the one with the purple feathers on it. (a friend gave it to me when William and Kate got married and she knew I’d be up watching. I wore it, too.)
The cardiology department wanted a new Covid-19 test for me on Tuesday. Not knowing the repercussions of saying yes, I agreed knowing that I would be negative. Yesterday, I had a chemical cardiac stress test. It felt like my car was parked on my chest. I couldn’t breathe or talk for several minutes. But I now know that my heart is healthy!
Now for the repercussions: some genius in the dietary department saw that I took the Covid-19 test and took it upon himself to declare that I must be in isolation. So I no longer get asked menu choices, my food is on Styrofoam plates with plastic forks, and they leave my tray on the floor in the hall. I only found out that I was in isolation when a passing RN brought it in. When I made my intense displeasure known and intentions of calling the hospital administrator, the kitchen sent someone up to apologize. It may take a day to undo their screwup.
I know that smell – decades ago we brought home a fish we had caught and carefully wrapped with ice and stupidly put it in our backpack. Too tired and forgetful to unpack, it sat for days in the corner until we smelled something really bad.,..
O T …. My next door neighbor just e-mailed this to me. Dedicated to those of you needing a smile: ..A frog goes into a bank and approaches the teller. He can see from her nameplate that her name is Patty Whack.
“Miss Whack, I’d like to get a $30,000 loan to take a holiday.”
Patty looks at the frog in disbelief and asks his name. The frog says his name is Kermit Jagger, his dad is Mick Jagger, and that it’s okay, he knows the bank manager.
Patty explains that he will need to secure the loan with some collateral.
The frog says, “Sure. I have this,” and produces a tiny porcelain elephant, about an inch tall, bright pink and perfectly formed.
Very confused, Patty explains that she’ll have to consult with the bank manager and disappears into a back office.
She finds the manager and says, “There’s a frog called Kermit Jagger out there who claims to know you and wants to borrow $30,000, and he wants to use this as collateral.” She holds up the tiny pink elephant. “I mean, what in the world is this?”
(You’re gonna love this.)
The bank manager looks back at her and says, “It’s a knickknack, Patty Whack. Give the frog a loan. His old man’s a Rolling Stone.”
(You sang it, didn’t you? Yeah, I know you did.)

I have been waiting for the turn to post this, but it appears that is not happening.
For Tad1 and you other nature lovers, Seattle crows gather to two points, one south and one north every evening. God knows what they talk about every night, but they evidently like the companionship. This video is from a midway gathering point on the way to the south crow assembly point:

Ah, but will it be warm on the loading dock? On another note, saw four varied thrushes, a sparrow, and a rabbit while out walking today.
