What a nightmare on Calvin’s street: a victim of filicide.

I have vague memories of being tied in bed. It wasn’t hard to escape, but it was sufficient to keep me from falling out.

I had forgotten this part of the snowgoon arc. Gave me a fine chuckle.

Great, now we’re going to have to wear masks to keep from becoming snow goons.

I can only imagine what the neighbors are thinking…

Snow Goons have nasty dispositions to begin with, but if give one a reason to be honked off, you’ll be in big trouble.

I never chained a kid to bed, but I did duct tape their full zip jammies shut ~ to prevent the diaper disaster.

My brother and I build a huge Igloo/snow fort in the backyard one winter and went out on a very very cold night and hosed it down (with parental approval-what were they thinking????). It was a solid chunk of ice the next morning and lasted until mid spring. It even left a shallow depression in the yard once it melted.

This is NOT going to end well…

Here today, goon tomorrow…

There’s never a snow patrol around when you need one. Either for Calvin or for his Dad. I wonder where they keep the snow jail.

Once again, Calvin manages to summon another snow goon.

Snow goons are in places you’d never expect.

I give Dad an 8.5 for form.

This particular strip is a great example of how animated Bill Watterson’s drawings could be!

The snow goons are quickly becoming the least of Calvin’s worries.

I am beginning to wonder if Calvin will survive childhood!

Funny how Calvin dad is a snow goons too?

Is this about as close as they get to sending Calvin to a house for troubled children?

In spite of his flailing plummet down the front walk, Dad maintains enough presence of mind to shout out an explanation to the world at large: “The whole yard’s ice!”

I love this story arc. I don’t care that I already read it in the collections, but I still love it.

Good god, what is this six year old doing outside the house after midnight.

Calvin’s dad is a disgrace, he NEVER nurtures Calvin’s imagination, and childhood dreams. Follow how his dad reacts to anything that Calvin does that shows creativity and imagination. Calvin’s mother, although often frustrated, understands and nurtures Calvin. Calvin’s dad is a LOOSER as a father and role model..

I’ve always been suspicious of Dad.

After moving to a snowy state from the South, I decide on washing my car on my steep north facing driveway on a nice, sunny winter day. Never considered the concrete was still cold enough to immediately freeze the water. Fortunately, most injuries were to my pride.
