the kids knew they couldn’t go wrong with sending goodies because the way to a Arlo’s heart was through his stomach; to Janis it was the sentiment on the package!
Off topic. “How to Cat” was on my display of daily comics, and it didn’t have a new comic for quite a while. This morning, I noticed that its link no longer appears on my display.
When I was a child my parents got some Omaha Steaks as a Christmas gift every year (probably from a business associate of my father).
We children didn’t get to eat any of the steaks, but we did get to play with the dry ice (with my mother’s supervision). It was so much fun. I can still smell the carbon dioxide and see the opaque white bubbles.
Someone they loved had a very good deer hunt and there is a hind quarter of venison steak and roasts packed in that dry ice. I miss getting those packages…
There was an Archie Comics story that involves Archie, Betty, and Archie’s father; it had where in the end Betty’s dry ice winds up in Mr. Andrews’ bathwater and Mr. Andrews has a bad experience getting into “steamy water” that really was made that way from the dry ice and was REAL cold, and Archie was blamed for that.

More likely a meat packer in Omaha. (yeah, I know, they wouldn’t have that kind of money.)
