I’ve actually been doing something similar… I dis-assemble the presents and try not to damage the bows or wrapping… it’s kind of like getting a puzzle along with the actual present.
CUT! CUT! CUT! We have to reshoot this scene! The lightings just all wrong and there’s no lights on the Christmas tree! Johnson, get a gaffer to check the circuits, and have a stage hand reset the scene.
JOHNNN-SON! Why is the alien bug in the tree? He’s supposed to be in the horn case by the girl!
Um, sir, Mr. McPherson called with a few scene changes. He requested that the bug…a-hem, I mean Mr. Bleeb, be in the Christmas tree… that it would be a little more Christmas-y that way. Um, he also requested that we not give any more bourbon eggnogs to the bug… a-hem, um, Mr. Bleeb, especially after last nights… fiasco involving Mrs. Clause and their um, laundry.
This reminds me of a tribal feast we used to have. The rules: No utensils, hands only. No feeding oneself, you had to ask someone to feed you. Finally, no articulate speech, only grunts. I’d point to my mouth and sound like a gorilla. It was fun, those days BC (before COVID). Merry (insert holiday here).
