Our parents didn’t do our homework, though they would help. I was in elementary school in the 60’s, and they’d bought the World Book Encyclopedia with the accompanying yearly updates. I actually read my way through those at a fairly young age. They and Granny read to us all from infancy, and Mama always said my little sister and I were no trouble on long car trips because we always had our noses stuck in books.. LOL!
My little brother had dyslexia, so it was harder for him. We got our first computer (A Timex-Sinclair) to help him. It helped all of us actually!
I was in elementary school in the 1950s. The only help I got from my mother was when she would read my list of spelling words aloud, so I could write them down for practice. By the way, I was a wizard speller in school and still am to this very day!

Since when did parents do ALL their children’s homework? The parent is the one who earned the mark, not the child.

Oh great, now it’s going to turn into a competition between the parents—see what you’ve started, school administration?
