Ten Cats by Graham Harrop for December 27, 2020

Aside from letting me sleep in (my cats sleep late too) and showing more respect for dogs (my cats don’t encounter dogs) I can’t see my cats doing any of these things. But they do cuddle in my lap and show me lots of love, so I guess I’ll let them get away with not keeping any of those other resolutions.

I resolved many years ago to never make a New Year’s resolution. That is the only resolution I’ve ever kept.

Cleaning private parts in public is one habit cats could stop doing. We used to throw wadded up paper at Toshie to get her to stop. She would get in the zen of it and….well let’s say 20 minutes is long enough.

Today is:

National Fruitcake Day. I don’t eat fruitcake. But I still have some of my chocolate cream pie left so I’ll eat that instead.

This may be one of my favorite Ten Cats ever. All great. So clever. And the dog’s tongue, that’s hilarious.

Cats make resolutions for their owners

Chesney would be horrified to watch my Orange Kitty head butt and lick and kiss Craig’s Jack Russell. I’ve never known a cat that loved dogs so much. And poor little Lucky Jack just freezes when he is touched by a cat, he wants nothing to do with him.

Is it 2021 yet?

Just ran into some bad luck. I was all set to go to work (I should be there now) but my car wouldn’t start. So, I called in to work to say I’d be late. Then I called AAA. After going through all that press one for this or press two for that rigamarole, I had to wait several more minutes for a person to come on. I told her my name and she told me she showed I am not currently a member of AAA. To which I replied, “I have my card right here in front of me and it says I’m good until Feb 1, 2021” (it has since been renewed too). I gave her my membership number and we went through all the questions and she said she’s call a tow service (I don’t need a tow – the car is in my driveway). When she finally came back on the line, she called me “Miss Hendrickson” and said I could expect a service truck by 9:45. And she was ready to cut me off but I cut her off and said, “I’m NOT Miss Hendrickson!” She seemed really confused, but I had told her my name and I even spelled it for her. So, she put me back on hold, saying she would call the tow service again. Then I heard a click and the call was cut off. So, I had to call AAA again and go through all of the same rigamarole again. Now I was told that the tow service should arrive by 12:45. It’s only 9:35 now! That’s a long wait! What a bummer!

Cats gotta be cats or how will we ever learn?

Are there any resolutions that aren’t easily broken by cats? Just askin’. I just love that dog!

Several of my previous cats would come when they were called. Not Bucky. Maybe he just doesn’t like his name. The late, great Big Man always responded to his name. We think he liked being The Big Man!

Very funny comic today! XD Love the dog’s goofy expression as Lily yanks on his tongue. (I’d pity any dog that crosses paths with Lily.) On another note, saw a sparrow and four varied thrushes while out walking today.
