Sledding hills are never that steep.

Better safe than sorry but that is very, very, very steep…..

Tobogganing in Michigan, 197-something. We hit a tree and my friends little sister went flying. She hit a tree and ruptured her spleen. At first we thought she was faking, but took her home and they got her to the doctor. Fortunately they were able to treat her, but it was pretty scary for awhile.

Boys will be idiots, but I thought Rover was smarter than that.

Hey, as long as they have helmets, what can go wrong? Well, yeah, other than broken bones and all that.

Oh dear! I dont trust those helmets ;(

Out snowshoeing yesterday and a couple of spots seemed like that.

Winter. 2010. Big Bear. I broadsided a pine tree going about 20 mph on a snow sled. The tree won.

When I was kid, I had great fun playing on the clay cliffs above the Brazos River. I would leap down twenty feet to land on soft ledges … until one broke away. I slid fifty feet and bruised the entire left side of my body. I thought I was going to go all the way down into the river. So, that’s on my list of “times I almost died”. Keep it short.

Or, when hills actually seemed that steep.
