I am not yet familiar with how things are done on these comments (we really need a forum) but I put up a couple new comments on the 21st’s comments a few hours ago, if you don’t know.
Really cool poster! Since there was an entire world full of Cardoodles, there could be any number of characters in Carter’s Cardoodles. We’ve only seen one issue of the Cardoodles comic, so at least the Cardoodle characters in that issue might be recognizable in our story. It seems that the Endtown character is the same “species” as the Cardoodle. If we take the movie poster as related to our story, then we might have seen some of those Cardoodles die ( I guess that the gator with pan is Allie, the horse could be Heather ). Other characters we haven’t met yet. I want to know all their names. ;-)
Hey just a quick shout out “Merry Christmas” to all those here that celebrate it, and Happy holidays to those who honor their own holiday’s. May we all see better times ahead! ;^)
I think this is an advertisement for a cartoon movie. It says “Produced by Carter Studios” and “Cinecolor” and “Millenia-Pictures” sounds like a movie-company.
I asked a few more questions of Aaron. Here is his answer to another “Fridge” moment I had, how/why the council conspied in that decision:The system was hacked by Jacob’s inner circle, likely with Marx’s help. The “council” that Walter was interacting with were all of Jacob’s cronies, not the actual High Council (who were shut out, like Albert). It might have been my muzziness that made me overlook this…I read half the strips in a literal all-nighter.
Also I asked about the history of Neitherland and the world:I have a couple, none of which are really relevant. My favorite is that a colony was established near Niagara Falls in the 17th century by a Prussian merchant named Frederik Neither who made a fortune selling goods and arms to anyone with the money or land to pay for it. His colony sold arms to the British and Americans during the Revolutionary War, and, growing to become Neitherland, sold arms to both the US and the Confederacy during the Civil War. At the end of the war, both North and South financially ruined, Neitherland claimed the entire East Coast and everything east of the Mississippi River as payment for war debt. Neitherland becomes the world’s greatest technological powerhouse via military research.
also:Endtown was designed to have a (roughly) twenty year lifespan, with each half of the overall story taking about a decade to unfold.
I love this! Aaron is so darn good at creating authentic-looking nostalgic covers/posters! A true eye for detail (well, that’s always been the case!), and the coloring of this one is spot on! Thank you, Aaron, for continuing to bring such amazing stuff!
You know, if I were a mongoose (or other non-lizard) in Unity, I would fight…the alternative, exile, would be a death sentence. The hard choice is if I were a lizard.Would I side with the other lizards or would I stand up for the furred and feathered? I like to think I would do the right thing, but I honestly don’t know. I pray if I am ever faced with such a decision I would make the right choice.
Think how lucky those fish and that earthworm anthro we saw near the beginning were. If I were a fish I would drown (or whatever the verb for a fish out of water would be). Even an earthworm would have a tough time.
Looking at this, I’d say that Aaron is a fan of the classic Harveytoon or Terrytoon cartoons or at least was when he was growing up. The “Cardoodles” do have that soft, “cartoony” feel to them that is so reminicent of the Harvey and/or Terrytoon styles.
I’m a bit surprised that Walt’s ‘doodle form doesn’t show up on the “cast picture” sidebar there. I’d have thought that Aaron would miss him if nothing else, especially since Allie’s alternate makes an appearance (and I never realised she’d been a redhead before either).
Not to mention I think I know that horse and she was murdered halfway-onscreen herself.
With “coincidental” names like Linda Kowalski (koala) , Foxworthy (fox) and Allie Alvarez (alligator), does that improve my chances of being a mongoose?

Think some day we’ll get to see what’s in the book?
In some ways, this strip is like Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy.
Just specializing in horror rather than humor.

Is this one of those “Silent” 8 mm novelty reels shown in my Dad’s rec room on holidays or do we see this in a theatre?

This is a brilliant pastiche of the kinds of posters the Hollywood studios put out in the 30s and 40s. Very well observed.

I don’t know about bringing Holly back … it looks like she bombed … or maybe she’ll be back for the Holly daze…
Thank you to the Neatherys for this nice Xmas gift to your fans!
May your Holidays be as generous to you as you are to us!

Is that Heather Hoss up above the lizard guy? And no wonder Alan is always nervous. And Allie was a redhead? Wouldn’t have guessed.
